MANAGER IT WEB DEVELOPMENT
My client is a versatile international telecom- and media company with at least 26 million customers in 11 European countries. They are the most successful alternative telecom provider in Europe and deliver both fixed as mobile telephony services, data networks and Internet services. The Dutch operations of the business started over ten years ago, and now has grown to the largest new telecom provider on both the business and the residential markets.

Information Technology 
The department Information Technology (around 100 employees) is responsible for the resolution of problems for the end-users, the delivery of solutions to optimize the use of our infrastructure, the servicing of all operational processes for my clients internal IT infrastructure and the execution of projects in the area of IT and corporate processes. In recent years, IT has become more and more vital for the business. Many projects are executed on the different areas and quality in systems development is becoming more important.

Team 
In Web & CRM Development, a team of around 20 people with around 7 consultants develop changes for the IT Architecture of the entire organization. Within this team there's a subteam Web Development.

Web Development 
In this team of around 10 developers (of which half are consultants) we are developing with focus on the Wholesale and Business areas. Development is being done using different technologies. It is the strategy to standardize on J2EE/Tomcat with an Oracle Back End.

For this team, we are currently looking for a Manager IT Web Development

Job Description 
The Manager Web is responsible for the delivery of changes according to the IT release roadmap and setting the direction for future architecture. Next to these planned changes it is also necessary to support the systems in scope as third line IT Support.

The Web & CRM Development Manager will co-ordinate the development work and plan according to the IT release calendar. The Web Development manager will also be doing hands on work, as analysis, development and quality assurance.

The main responsibilities of the Development Manager are:

• Development of changes: for the systems Vuurwerk, Teledoc, Business Portal, NIS Search tool, IXI, AC/PE Checker, EMS Gateway, BIX.
• People management: as a line manager, the manager is responsible for the people management of 10 people, supplemented with a variable number of external specialists for specific projects.
• CRM & Web Development management: as senior member of the Web & CRM Development team, the goal is to contribute on team development and architecture and take lead in this.

As Manager Web you will report to the CRM & Web Development Manager. Your peer is the lead developer within the team. There are developers at three levels reporting to you.

Requirements

• As Manager Web you have an academic or HBO degree in information technology or a related area of expertise 3 years of experience in a professional IT environment proven managerial/team lead skills hands-on development experience as a software developer (you have knowledge of J2EE, Tomcat and Oracle RDBMS's)
• Good command of both English and Dutch
• As Manager Web you ideally have experience in telecommunications
• As Manager Web you are able to Make trade-offs between flexibility and stability of the services that serve our business best
• Choose between urgent short term solutions and long term optimal solutions
• Select solutions taking both technical and financial arguments into account
